What we hold about you

Your name, your email address, your organization, a password we store only as a one-way hash, the devices and network addresses you sign in from, and a record of what you view, download and upload. We hold the documents shared with you and the documents you send.

Why

To let the firm exchange documents with you securely, to prove what was delivered and when, to protect your account and the firm’s clients, and to meet the firm’s professional and legal obligations.

Artificial intelligence

The firm’s internal systems read, summarize and index documents in its files, including documents you send, to help the firm’s lawyers work. This is done with Anthropic’s Claude models under a subscription whose terms exclude training on the firm’s data. The outputs are seen only by the firm’s staff; a person reviews anything that matters, and nothing generated is shown to you or to any other outside person as the firm’s position. If a protective order or similar rule limits how material may be processed, counsel must secure the required permission before sending it here.

Service providers

The platform runs on Vercel (the website), Railway (the firm’s systems and database) and Google Workspace (document storage and email), each under agreements that restrict their use of the data to providing the service.

Retention and legal hold

Access records and account details are kept for as long as the matter file is kept, under the firm’s retention policy and any legal hold. Ending your access does not delete the firm’s record of what was exchanged.

Your choices

You can change your name, your password and your email notices under Settings, see and end your sessions under Sessions, and ask the firm to end your access at any time.
